Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

Compass Motorcycle Training offer the Compulsory Basic Training for motorcycle training in and around Chesterfield

What is CBT?

Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is the motorcycle course all learner riders must complete before riding their motorcycle or moped on UK roads.

At Compass Motorcycle Training Chersterfield, we provide a Compulsory Basic Training course that is aimed at your experience and ability. Whether you are a complete novice or a seasoned rider.

Our instructors will take you through your motorcycle training with great ease and patience as we fully understand everyone learns at a different pace.

The CBT training introduces you to the motorcycle most appropriate for you, its controls and it teaches you how to ride safely on the roads.

CBT is a course designed for the complete novice rider.

However, all learner riders must complete a CBT course to validate the provisional motorcycle and moped entitlement on their licence.

So if you have to display L-Plates on 2 wheels you have to do CBT.

The CBT certificate issued on completion is valid for 2 years.

In addition to learners on mopeds, if you have a full moped licence because you passed your car test on or after 1st February 2001, you must also complete just 1 CBT course to validate the full moped entitlement.
